TikTok is welcoming applications for new members for the TikTok Youth Council for 2024/25.

We are looking for children and young people aged 14-19 who are passionate youth advocates and TikTok users, who would like the opportunity to become a Youth Council member – working with other young people from around the world to advise and inform TikTok policy and product teams.

We are looking for young people who can commit to 90-minute virtual meetings every two months between December 2024 and September 2025. There may also be some additional reading to do ahead of meetings, along with short surveys and email correspondence.

All applicants must have a good understanding of English and be able to converse in English for the purpose of the meetings. Applicants must also be at least 14 at the start of the council and no older than 19 by the end of September 2025.

We are seeking teens who can work constructively with other young people from a range of different backgrounds and global regions. We are looking for those who have a willingness and appetite to learn and share and who can dig deep into a topic or issue that affects teens online. Potential applicants need to be able to listen openly and respectfully to different viewpoints and feel comfortable to discuss ideas and share opinions in a safe space.

This is an amazing opportunity to have your voice heard by TikTok and to help influence TikTok policies and products, to better support young people on the platform.

We will work to ensure that the TikTok Youth Council is an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment where all individuals feel valued and respected. We particularly welcome applications from those who are part of an ethnic or religious minority group, LGBTQ+ individuals, people living with disabilities, refugees and migrants, as well as youth in foster care or those experiencing homelessness.

The TikTok Youth Council is being led by Praesidio Safeguarding on behalf of TikTok.

Applications must be received by Friday 11th October. You will need parent or carer permission to apply.
